Bird on a Snowman – Warm Winter Wishes

Hello! Heather Hoffman here this morning with a card that I had SOOO much fun making! It was one of those cards that you picture and want to try, and love so much when it comes out like you were picturing in your head – so great when that happens! I combined two different stamp sets – Good Tidings to You and Warm Winter Wishes to create this little one layer scene!
As I was looking at my stamp sets, it occurred to me that the little birdie from Warm Winter Wishes would look super cute on the snowman from Good Tidings to You – so I did a bit of masking to add the birdie on the snowman.

Since I was already in the mode of masking by now, I went ahead and added a mask over both images, a circle mask around the entire scene, masked off a line along the bottom, then did some ink blending, finishing off with lots of white paint splatters for snow.

I let the paint dry, then stamped my sentiment along the bottom and added a bit of coloring with my Copic markers. One particularly fun touch is the bit of shadow added under the snowman with Warm Gray markers – I love how it makes the scene feel like it is a little more dimensional even with only one layer!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!!!

Guest Designer: Patricia Roebuck | Good Tidings to You Cards

Hello Everyone!  Thankful to be back again here on the Evelin T Designs blog sharing two cards using the Good Tidings To You stamp set.  Both of these cards use the same pattern paper in two different ways, and both of the images were colored with pencils before I had my cards in mind.

Pulling from the green scarf on this adorable snowy fellow, I used a dark green and an aqua green cardstock for my card panels.  To help my snowy friend stand out a little more, I layered him on top of a die cut pattern paper circle in a pale green with white dots.

For my aqua card panel, I used a dotted stencil with white ink to create a subtle snowy look, then stamped the snowflakes from the same stamp set with the same white ink first, then stamped again in an aqua ink a few times.  I love the softer look this gives stamped images.  You can see the effects of that even more with my stamped sentiment, ‘ Peace Love Joy’ where parts of the black ink are softer in the areas where it is over the white inked background.  To add to the sentiment and my snowy friend being in winter bliss, I adhered a leafy white circle die cut around him. I finished him with Nuvo drops and gems.

My next card uses the negative leftover piece of pattern paper I used for the circle die cut under my snowy friend on the first card.  For this card, I layered it with more pattern paper, in a contrasting color.

For the sentiment, I stamped and heat embossed in gold onto vellum layered under the circle.  To help the sentiment stand out from the plaid pattern paper, I punched a circle from a dark cardstock to layer under it.  Then just foam adhered my sweet cuddly friends and added a few Nuvo drops to finish.  That vellum adds such a nice soft look to this wintery card as well as a perfect spot for the beautiful sentiment.

Two cards using the same pattern paper and images colored before I had any idea how I would use them.  Love how inspiration comes from pre-stamped and colored images, and leftover pieces of pattern papers.  Hope this gives you some creative ways to use your stamped images.  Will be back for one last guest post later this month, sharing more holiday card ideas with a video!

Critter Window Card

Hello! Heather Hoffman here this morning to share a card using the adorable new Good Tidings to You stamp set – one from the new release that I hadn’t had a chance to play with yetā€¦and it is SOOO CA-UTE!!!

I thought it would be fun to create some windows and have some of the cute images peeking through from the windows. I die cut 3 different size windows with a basic circle die from a panel of white cardstock, then lined up and stamped 3 of the cute images from the set behind the windows on a white cardbase.

I then had fun coloring in all those sweet critters, then added some sparkly Nuvo glitter drops on all the red parts of the image – I love the shine and sparkle that adds!

Once that dried, I stamped my sentiment on the front window panel, then adhered that with foam adhesive on the card – this gives it a bit of dimension which is fun with the windows.

Finally, for just a bit more sparkle, I added some coordinating green jewels sprinkled around on the card!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!!!

Spooky and Sweet…

Happy Hello everyoneā€¦ Annette Allen here with you today to share two fun card I created using the newly released Evelin T. Designs: Good Tidings To You, All Is Calm and All Hallow’s Cuteness.

Are you saying yes right now? The new release is full of cuteness.

You can see all the new release HERE.

The first card I created I usedĀ Evelin T. Designs: Good Tidings To You, All Is Calm.

I colored these sweet images using Copic Sketch markers. At first I was going for an inside themed card and then I remembered this cute snowman and well that changed it all for me. I went with an outside scene and this cute snowman peeking up behind just makes me smile.

I used a die cut for the background. I wanted a snowfall look and polka dots totally worked for me. I used foam adhesives to give my colored images some dimension. I also added a little white gel pen polka dots and strips here and there.

Next up I created this card usingĀ Evelin T. Designs: All Hallow’s Cuteness. I mean come on I am so in love with this set. Totally fun to color.

Sample card by Designer Annette Allen

I used an embossing die for the background and added some Ranger Oxide ink for a bold fun background. I splashed some Copic opaque, water and black soot oxide ink on the background. The images are all colored with Copic Sketch markers and I adhered them to the card using foam adhesive.

That is all for today.

I hope you enjoyed both cards today. I love this time of year when I get to make Christmas and Halloween cards. Make sure to shop the new release HERE.

Have a great day!
